Pak Army's putting pressure on US-India ties through Difa-i-Pakistan won't help Islamabad: Editorial
Nashville Herald (ANI) Wednesday 22nd February, 2012
Pakistan military's deliberate attempt to put further pressure on the Americans and Indians through Difa-i-Pakistan Council is not going to benefit the country, an editorial has claimed.
Pakistan cannot be held hostage to the jihadists and their apologists because they are more harmful to us than any other country in the world, a Daily Times editorial has said, adding that Islamabad should stop fooling itself, and impose a complete ban on the Difa-i-Pakistan Council.
According to the editorial, the Difa-i-Pakistan Council's move of holding the Islamabad rally near the ISI headquarters, instead of holding it in front of parliament, itself indicate the backing it has got of the military establishment.
What kind of a message is the military trying to give to the international community in the form of this conglomerate of religious hardliners is quite apparent, it asked.
The government and the military are reportedly carrying on with General Pervez Musharraf's mischief, turning a blind eye to banned organisations that have only renamed themselves, but are carrying on with their activities with impunity.
This is completely unacceptable, it insisted. (ANI)
