Zakai Zeigler had 11 points, seven assists and four steals and the No. 4 Volunteers held visiting Georgia to a season low in points to cruise to a 70-41 victory in SEC play Wednesday in Knoxville, Tenn.
Tobe Awaka finished with 10 points, while Santiago Vescovi added eight points, seven rebounds, four assists and a game-high six steals. Olivier Nkamhoua chipped in eight points and six rebounds for the Volunteers, who have won eight of their past nine.
The Volunteers (17-3, 7-1 SEC), who outscored Georgia 35-19 in the second half, shot 26 of 62 (41.9 percent) from the field, including 6 of 21 (28.6 percent) from 3-point range. The Volunteers outrebounded the Bulldogs 43-37.
Tennessee scored 25 points of Georgia's 20 turnovers, while the Bulldogs mustered just four points off the Volunteers' nine miscues.
Georgia (13-7, 3-4), which dropped its third straight, was led by Terry Roberts' 11 points, five rebounds and two assists. Jabri Abdur-Rahim and Justice Hill added eight points apiece.
The Bulldogs, who fell to Tennessee for the fifth time in the past six meetings, shot an abysmal 16 of 55 (29.1 percent) from the field, including just 4 of 22 (18.2 percent) from beyond the arc.
The Volunteers put the game away midway through the second half by going on a 12-0 run to take a 57-30 lead following Nkamhoua's dunk with 8:40 to play.
Leading 19-17 with 10:50 left in the first half, Tennessee held the Bulldogs to just two field goals the rest of the half, enabling the Vols to pull away for a 35-22 halftime lead.
Zeigler scored eight points and Nkamhoua added six in the first 20 minutes for Tennessee, which shot 13 of 30 (43.4 percent) from the field before the break, including 4 of 15 (26.7 percent) from beyond the arc.
Georgia was led by Abdur-Rahim's six first-half points, while Hill added five.
The Bulldogs shot 9 of 28 (32.1 percent) from the field before halftime, including 3 of 11 (27.3 percent) from distance.
